Insecurity of UK energy supply.
The Event - 22 October 2008
Security of supply is top of the UK energy agenda as we enter a winter of high oil and gas prices, Russian control of crucial pipelines and the current doubts over LNG UK supply.
Central to the issue is the question of whether it is possible to achieve genuine security of supply whilst simultaneously reducing carbon emissions - and all at a price that industrial and domestic customers can afford. Industrial customers remain doubtful and continue to look overseas for solutions, represented by the MEUC, they will be pushing their case with the EU authorities in Brussels.
Following a keynote address from Chris Train, Network Operations Director, National Grid, our speaker line up will be able to talk authoritatively from the viewpoints of; largescale energy purchaser - Paul Gardiner, Chief Energy Buyer, British Sugar - and innovative new entrant business energy supplier with a different take from that of the oligarchy of six vertically integrated majors - Keith Munday, Commercial Director, Bizz Energy.
