Delivery Blueprints for the Utilities

The Utility Strategy Group and Westminster Energy Forum held its inaugural combined lecture where Vincent de Rivaz, delivered a keynote address focusing on some of the essential commercial and practical issues facing potential nuclear new build in the UK.

In this lecture he set out EDF’s groundbreaking blueprint for the delivery of a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK, and he will speak on a range of key issues including:
• site selection
• technology options
• safety
• planning
• licensing
• financing criteria and debt profiles
• construction consortia structure
• pricing
• uranium supplies
• waste disposal
• the role of government

Following the lecture there was a stimulating open debate on these issues, chaired by Brian Count (lately Chairman and CEO RWE Trading).
