Adding Colour to the Energy White Paper
Going green, awaiting Brown, avoiding blackouts
You are invited to an early evening event organised by the Utility Strategy Group. The first part of the evening will consist of keynote presentations by Malcolm Wicks, Energy Minister, Jeremy Nicholson, Director of the Energy Intensive Users Group, and Duncan Sedgwick, Chief Executive of the Energy Retail Association which represents all the major energy companies. There will then be a panel discussion chaired by the Utility Strategy Group & Energy Saving Trust Chairman Edward Hyams, followed by questions from the theatre audience.
The event will focus on the wide ranging implications of the proposals published in the recent Energy White paper. It will address the climate change issue, the prospect of building a new generation of nuclear power stations, and the abiding concerns around security of supply, along with the issue of affordability for customers.
